This Italian casserole combines penne with courgette, diced spicy beef sausages and a fragrant tomato sauce with oregano and rosemary. Extra delicious with Parmesan cheese, melted mozzarella and fresh basil.

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 ºC.
  2. Cook the penne pasta according to the instructions on the packet. Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Clean and dice the courgettes. Cut the sausages into pieces.
  3. Heat the Bertolli extra virgin olive oil in a frying pan and fry the sausage pieces. Fry the onion for a minute. Add the garlic and courgette and fry for 3 minutes. Now add the pasta sauce and leave to warm up gently.
  4. Spoon the cooked pasta and the Parmesan cheese into the sauce mixture. Transfer the pasta to a greased baking dish and divide the mozzarella balls on top.
  5. Bake the pasta dish in the oven until the mozzarella is slightly melted. Garnish the dish with fresh basil leaves.

  • 1 Bertolli Alle Erbe pasta sauce in pouch – 460 g
  • 1 bag Bertolli Penne Rigate pasta (400g)
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 400 g courgette
  • 400 g spiced beef sausages
  • 75 g Parmesan cheese
  • 125 g mini mozzarella balls
  • Fresh basil
